Travel notes
This is one of London's most famous breakfast spots. In an earlier post, I mentioned seeing the Soho branch in the photograph and laughing at the queue outside. Later, I happened to look it up on Foursquare and found excellent ratings and comments. So we went to its Southwark branch, opposite Borough Market.

The Breakfast Club
Naturally, there was a long queue outside this one as well 🙂 We decided to give it a try. While we were wondering whether it would be worth it, they did something so thoughtful that we already began to think it would 🙂

Complimentary hot chocolate
Yes, as you can see in the photograph, a member of staff offered hot chocolate to everyone waiting outside in the cold. Isn't that lovely? 🙂

As there were only two of us, we didn't wait too long. We were looked after as soon as we sat down: first some water, then a look at the menu. The staff were smiling and attentive: ten out of ten 🙂 The music was a little loud, but it certainly woke us up! We don't prefer pork and similar foods—not for religious reasons—so we chose the Reggie the Veggie breakfast.

It came with eggs, the British sweetish baked beans, grilled mushrooms, toast, butter, tomato, onion, potatoes and a veggie sausage. Everything was hot and very tasty. There is a broad menu with something for every preference. The place is relaxed and comfortable, not cramped, with cartoon characters, funny stickers and pictures everywhere. Very cute! Service was quick, too.

Pancakes and berries
Even after that filling breakfast, we ordered the wonderful thing in the photograph: pancakes and berries, surely one of the seven wonders of the world 🙂 They were so delicious that I forgot all about the fat content and tucked in! I especially loved the pancakes themselves and the cream on top. It is a little expensive, but worth it for a good breakfast in London. I don't remember exactly, but I think two veggie breakfasts, two coffees and the pancakes and berries came to around £33.

After we paid, they gave each of us a little badge like the one in the photograph. Such a sweet touch 🙂 If you come to London and don't stop here, I think you'll be missing out!
