Barcelona sights: 20 places and a three-day itinerary

Barcelona rewards neighbourhood walks and waterfront time as much as Gaudí architecture. Use this selection to build a route that suits your interests rather than to finish every stop. Each of the twenty places below includes an address, visiting notes and an official source. Balance paid interiors with free street walks.

Day 1: Gaudí and Eixample

Start with a timed Sagrada Família ticket. Add Sant Pau in the same area, then choose an interior at Casa Batlló or Casa Milà on Passeig de Gràcia. You can see both façades on a walk without touring every interior that day. Leave gaps for lunch and travel.

Day 2: Old town, El Born and the sea

Begin with a morning walk around the Gothic Quarter and cathedral. After the Picasso Museum or Santa Maria del Mar, consider Ciutadella and Arc de Triomf. Finish in Barceloneta if you have energy. Boqueria and La Rambla can be short alternative stops; check market hours and redevelopment diversions.

Day 3: Park Güell or Montjuïc · Budget and transport

Pair Park Güell with Gràcia and Casa Vicens, or Montjuïc with a choice of MNAC, Miró or the castle. Avoid squeezing both hills and Tibidabo into one day. Streets and waterfronts may be free, but museum, cable-car and park tickets are separate costs. Check Monday museum closures and current metro/bus routes with TMB. Suggested durations here are not live transport information.
