Privacy & analytics

Public content pages use Google AdSense and Google consent management. Cookies, device information and IP addresses may be processed for advertising by Google and partners listed in the consent message. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, the advertising message lets you consent, decline or manage your preferences. Use the privacy and cookie settings link provided by that message to change advertising consent. Analytics consent is managed separately. AdSense does not load in the profile or trip planner areas.

The guest trip planner saves plans only in this browser’s local storage. Plans do not sync to an account or another device; clearing browser data removes them. Searching sends the search text and selected city centre to Photon (komoot). Maps use OpenFreeMap and the map library loads from unpkg; these providers can see your IP address and the map provider can see the area viewed. Trip titles, notes and dates are not sent to those providers or analytics. Analytics does not load on the planner page.

Public travel content does not require an account. The separate profile area is restricted to two approved test accounts. It uses Google sign-in and Supabase to process profiles, saved items, travel wallets and selected shared budgets. Your session is stored in this browser; analytics does not load in the profile area.

Optional Google Analytics measurement loads only after you accept analytics. You can still use the guides without consenting. Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days and can be changed using Analytics preferences at the bottom of the page.

When enabled, Google Analytics processes guide visits, approximate country/city, device and traffic source, search-result totals, reaching near the end of a page, itinerary guide views, opening the planner from a public page and the domain of an outbound link. We do not add raw search text, private travel details, raw URL query strings or profile information to our measurement events. Limited campaign labels from our sharing links may be used to measure which channel brought a visit. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are kept off in this integration.

Reports contain approximate visitor and engagement counts, not the identities of individual people. Visitors who decline or block measurement may be absent. Visits that were not measured in the past cannot be reconstructed retroactively.

The AWS infrastructure serving the website may keep access and security logs. External image sources, Google Maps, YouTube and official venue links have their own privacy rules. No measurement data is sent to Google Analytics when analytics is disabled.
