İzmir, Urla & Ephesus: 4 Day Road Trip Itinerary

Day 1: İzmir → Urla

Start with a short walk along İzmir’s Kordon. Continue to Urla for its central streets and an evening by the coast. Keep distant detours out of this first day.

1–2 hours driving · Overnight: Urla

Day 2: Urla → Alaçatı → Çeşme

Explore Alaçatı on foot in the morning, then relax on the Çeşme coast. Choose a beach according to the wind and leave the car in a designated parking area.

1.5–2.5 hours driving · Overnight: Çeşme

Day 3: Çeşme → Selçuk → Şirince → Selçuk

Leave early for Selçuk. Allow several hours for Ephesus and add a short Şirince visit if you have energy. Plan a shaded lunch and rest between the two stops.

3–4 hours driving · Overnight: Selçuk

Day 4: Selçuk → İzmir

Have a relaxed breakfast in Selçuk before returning to İzmir. Choose one short stop around your flight or car return time and allow a buffer for city traffic.

Before you drive

Start the Çeşme–Selçuk transfer early. Check official Ephesus entry conditions and visit outdoor sites in the morning during summer. Include car return arrangements and motorway tolls in your budget.
