Musée d’Orsay · Paris

The former station’s large interior makes this a stop for architecture as well as painting. If Impressionist art is a priority, give Orsay its own visit rather than squeezing it straight after the Louvre. It closes on Mondays. Afterwards, a riverside walk is a gentle change of pace; Tuileries is an option across the river.
